Description:
Junior Counselors (J.C's) are between the ages of 17-19, and are assigned to divisions that best fit their talent and ability. The J.C. program gives past campers the opportunity to become counselors through a mentoring program that is supervised by our Directors. The purpose of the program is to teach leadership and communication skills that may be utilized in any job with children. After successful completion of the J.C program, he/she may apply the following summer for a position as a full time counselor if they meet the age requirement.
J.C.’s are treated like staff and will be expected to act as role models and follow all camp rules and guidlines. They will be provided organized off-camp trips and other perks, while still being under Kingsmont Director Supervision and receiving the full benefits of the program. J.C’s receive a discounted rate to attend camp because they are under our staff age requirement. J.C.’s should plan to attend camp for seven weeks and be present for orientation on June 16th. Special arrangements can be made upon request for those students still enrolled in School.
Jr. Counselors must arrive Friday, June 16th by noon for a Jr. Counselor Staff orientation prior to camper arrival. J.C.’s may receive a bonus stipend of 500 dollars upon completion of job well done. Make sure to send your application to our winter address. We look forward to the possibility of having you on our staff this summer, see you soon.
