Evening Activities
Each evening at 8 pm the staff and campers participate in various fun activities, including ‘themed’ weekly dances, talent
shows, game shows, pool parties, rec/pool nights, movies, scavenger hunts, Dutch auction, gold rush, counselor auction, capture the flag
and a host of other outdoor games. The activities are designed to encourage participation and social interaction. Counselors
motivate their campers to get into the mix.
Recreation/Pool Nights
The rec/pool nights are held in the Hampshire College pool and recreational building. Campers can swim, play water polo, basketball,
dodge ball, indoor soccer, or ping pong, or they shoot pool at the billiards. These evenings generally involve pick-up games that encourage participation by all
campers. Summer 2009 will also bring a ‘Slip-N-Slide’ contest on the hill adjacent to the pool as well as ‘Slip-N-Slide’ bowling.
Camp Dances
The dances are held every Thursday at the Red Barn on campus and feature a variety of themes such as ‘black and white,’ toga, ‘PJ’, Halloween,
an International music night, ‘Motown’ and an end of year ‘PROM.’ Campers are highly encouraged to dress for the night’s theme.
Music is provided by Danny ‘Ginger Pits’ and his loyal camper understudies. In addition to the Thursday dances in the Red Barn, we will
have several dances ‘Under the Stars’ on campus.
